Crafting a Low-Stress SAT & ACT Game Plan in 2025
Co-hosted by College Admission Coach’s Jen Nelson and North Avenue’s Executive Director Scott Clyburn, this practical session helps 10th–11th grade families decode test-optional admissions, understand PSAT results, choose between SAT and ACT, and map a smart, low-stress prep timeline.
You’ll leave knowing whether, when, and how to test—and how to decide if and when to submit scores. We’ll also outline realistic study steps and budgeting options for prep, plus time for Q&A.
Attendees will walk away with practical tips and info, including:
Test-optional, decoded – what it really means, who benefits, and a simple rule of thumb for sending scores.
Why some colleges are bringing tests back and what rising sophomores and juniors should expect in the next cycle.
How to read your PSAT score report and turn it into a targeted, do-now study plan.
SAT vs ACT at a glance: timing, content, and tools so students can choose the better-fit test with confidence.
A proven testing timeline: when to take diagnostics, ideal first and second test dates, and how long prep typically takes.
Advice re: self-study versus professional support, budgeting time and dollars wisely, and what “done with testing” looks like.
Live Q&A with Jen and Scott to apply the advice to your student’s situation.
