Decode learning differences and realize your potential.

If learning differences are inhibiting your student’s growth, we can equip them with skills necessary to succeed. Our tutors are experienced working with neurodiverse students, students who struggle with executive function, and students with diagnosed disabilities.

Bridge the Learning Gap

For students with learning differences, traditional classroom instruction can be challenging. Our tutors offer supportive, specialized instruction and alternative approaches not taught in the classroom, helping students build self-awareness and lifelong habits to achieve their academic goals.

Our Approach

The North Avenue difference.

We are committed to serving students with learning differences and have been since our founding. From hiring tutors with specialized experience to ongoing professional development, accommodating diverse learning styles is in our DNA. With every tutoring relationship, we value an individualized approach, which opens the door to greater success, particularly for students who struggle with executive functioning skills like staying organized, focusing, and sequencing.

By addressing specific needs with a set of tailored tools, we help students thrive and see neurodiversity as an invaluable asset.

Our Process

What to expect.

We want to capture a complete picture of your student’s academic life. An initial assessment helps us understand their specific needs so we can connect them to the right tutor and design the best program. Part of this process may include liaising with other professionals providing support to your student.

The customized program we create will address concrete areas of development and build on your student’s strengths. We view every tutoring engagement as an ongoing conversation – tutors share updates after each session and are available to discuss your student’s progress as needed.

When it comes to learning, these differences become especially apparent. A neurodiverse student’s brain is wired with cognitive functioning variations, meaning they receive, process, and retain information differently from someone who is neurotypical. This also means executive functioning skills may not come naturally, making it more challenging to accomplish the everyday tasks required of students. Neurodiversity and trouble with executive function aren’t learning disabilities, but they are common in diagnosable conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.

We can help all learners recognize and appreciate their unique skills and overcome the challenges of a structured learning environment.

Every one of us has a unique way of taking in the world.

I would highly recommend North Avenue Education! My tutor is organized, patient, and highly skilled at her job. She has helped me to become a more independent and confident student. I am extremely grateful for her support!
