This workshop is designed for students entering grades 9–11 who are beginning to think about SAT or ACT preparation. It is an ideal first step before enrolling in a full SAT or ACT prep course.
What to Expect
Most students benefit from a clear-eyed look at the SAT and ACT before they commit to a full prep course. Understanding what the tests actually measure (and how they're structured) makes every subsequent hour of preparation more efficient. This workshop provides exactly that foundation
Students will get a working overview of the SAT and ACT: how each test is structured, what each section measures, how scoring works, and what distinguishes a strong performance from an average one. We'll also cover the core reading, writing, and math skills that appear most frequently across both tests. Students will leave with a diagnostic orientation that helps students know where to focus their energy.
By the end of the session, students will have a clearer picture of which test may be the better fit for them, what a realistic preparation timeline looks like, and what the next right step is — whether that's a full prep course, 1:1 tutoring, or independent practice.
