Billing & Payments

Pay only for the sessions you need.

Payment for all 1:1 tutoring is processed via credit card (3% fee applies) or ACH transfer (no fee) at time of purchase (tutoring packages) or on Mondays for sessions completed the week prior (hourly). Onboarding involves a lifetime $95 registration fee (waived with a tutoring package), which funds materials and account setup.

All purchases are non-refundable, but may be applied as credit toward another service of equal or lesser value with appropriate notice. Tutoring package sessions are valid for 1 year after purchase.

Scheduling & Cancellations

Flexible options to fit your schedule.

To alter a tutoring session, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Courtesy session reminders are available as emails and/or texts via your online account; to cancel, click the embedded cancellation link or contact us at 503/468-6905 or info@northaveeducation.com. Late-cancelled or no-show sessions are subject to the full tutoring rate. 

To ensure tutors are adequately prepared for every session, we do not support same-day session bookings. For urgent tutoring needs, call us to discuss options.

If a tutor is unable to attend a session, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible to reschedule or secure a substitute tutor.

After you book sessions, our team will confirm the appointments. If any changes are necessary, we’ll reach out within 24 hours. To cancel a tutoring session, simply click the cancellation link in your reminder email or the button that appears on your event when viewing the online calendar in your account. Payments are processed on Mondays for sessions completed the week prior. Itemized invoices may be viewed at any time in your account.

Online Tutoring

In these video tutorials, we’ll walk you through key steps to ensuring a successful and glitch-free virtual tutoring experience.

We strongly recommend downloading the Zoom app directly to your computer, as it enables enhanced functionality for whiteboard collaboration, in comparison with Zoom via your web browser.

The link to join your session can be found in the location field of your emailed session reminder (“Zoom Meeting Room”), as well as in the event details on the calendar in your account.

Please arrive on time, fully focused, and prepared with all learning materials needed for your session.

Official SAT & ACT Testing

These video tutorials will guide you through registering for an official SAT or ACT exam. Plan for this process to take 30 minutes. 

Before you begin, we recommend having a stable internet connection, a credit card or other form of payment, your high school course details, and a headshot of yourself (or your student).   

We advise signing up for the student search services during registration, which will allow the College Board or the ACT to connect you with colleges, universities, and scholarship opportunities that fit your academic profile and extracurricular interests.   

These videos also include directions for adding Question-and-Answer (QAS) and Test Information Release (TIR) services to your registration, yielding access to the official exam you took on test day.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Visit our Book Now page. Choose whether you would like to work with a tutor based at one of our locations or online, as well as your desired billing method (hourly or package). Select your service from the list, and then your tutor. Your tutor’s availability will automatically populate; select your preferred day and time. To schedule more than one session, click “Add a Time.” When you’ve finished adding sessions, click “Continue” to confirm and submit.

  • We recommend consistent, regular sessions within a defined timeline to meet your stated academic goals. Since our tutors book up in busy seasons, we advise scheduling all desired sessions in advance – thereby securing your ideal schedule. Payment is processed only for attended (or late-canceled) sessions.

    Our hourly booking plugin limits the number of sessions bookable to 6; to book more, purchase a tutoring package and book all desired sessions via the package booking plugin.

  • To ensure our tutors arrive adequately prepared for every lesson, same-day session bookings are not supported. For this reason, we encourage students to book all desired sessions in advance.

    If you have an urgent tutoring need, call us at 503/468-6905 and we’ll do our best to connect you with a tutor.

  • If you need to cancel a tutoring session, use the link in your session reminder email. (Alternatively, navigate to the calendar in your online account and click “view” on the event, then “cancel.”)

    Be advised that cancellations made within 24 hours of the session are subject to the full tutoring rate.

  • Online tutoring students are expected to secure access to reliable WiFi and test their devices before joining a scheduled session. Our tutors are trained to help troubleshoot, but if a connection that supports videoconferencing cannot be maintained, the session may be canceled and payment forfeited.

    We strongly advise planning ahead to conduct online tutoring sessions from home, school, or another trusted location.

  • On a desktop, log into your account. Within the parent profile, scroll down to Recent Invoices. Click on an invoice number to view or downloaded a PDF.

  • Your tutor can be reached by email by replying to their lesson notes. If it’s urgent, feel free to give our Client Support team a call at 503/468-6905.

We remain committed to providing your student with an exceptional and safe tutoring experience. All tutoring is by appointment only and all staff are fully vaccinated. If you have any questions about our Covid-19 protocols, please contact us any time.

We encourage students and tutors alike to stay home when feeling unwell, and to take advantage of our seamless online tutoring.
