Ian Steele

BA, University of California at Berkeley
PhD, University of California at Berkeley

Ian has loved teaching since he first stepped behind a podium over 14 years ago. He has taught anthropology and African-American studies at the university level and tutored English, math, and college test prep to high school students in the US and abroad. Ian sees education as empowerment and aims at inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Ian’s Study Tip: “For students struggling to start a writing assignment, give yourself permission to write without self-criticism first. Once you've generated substantial material, then work to define its shape and polish its imperfections.”
